In 2023, Board hired J2 Building Consultant to get construction bids for replacing roof and siding for 7 units in our community. Board chose Seattle-based Charter Construction, and approved $490K for the work, which converted into $70K per unit for roof & siding replacements. Sharing across 190 owners, each owner was assessed $2600.
In 2025, Board again hired J2 Building Consultant to get construction bids for replacing roof for the remaining 183 units at over $23K per roof and replacing siding for 24 units at over $40K per home, plus some siding repair work. The entire project cost was $6M+, with each home assessed for $32K.
The problem is that roof and siding in our community is nowhere near in the kind of shape that they needed replacing this early. But the Board has so much power, and many of us are wondering when the next round is going to come and how much.
